Blogging from my phone!

This is the first time I’ve actually tried blogging from my phone! So basically, this is just a test!

I’m using the WordPress app for Android, and it seems to work pretty good!

Memories…

I remember back when I was MUCH MUCH younger, laying in bed, Staring at the window, and listening to the radio – feeling devastated and heartbroken over a lost love, that strangely I can’t even remember now who it was – so many years later.. When you’re young and heartbroken, you feel like the whole world is truly ending for sure….

The Show

She was tall and slender, one might say almost gangly – but not in an ugly or unusual way. Her hair was short and unkempt, and of a color of dark reddish brown. Her clothes, usually just a man’s large white button down shirt, she wore almost in protest – without even the slightest concern if the buttons actually lined up properly with the button holes, or for that matter, if it was even buttoned at all. She cared nothing at all about rules, or etiquette – none of that mattered to her at all.  Modest she was not, and she laughed about it – flaunted it without a care in the world about what anyone thought.. If I had a million dollars…

If I had a million dollars, what would I do? Well the first thing I would do is give up photography as a business and go back to photography as a hobby. The simple truth of the matter is – there’s no money in it. Someone once said, “If you seriously want to make money in photography, you need to sell your gear.” It’s a funny statement – because it is true!

If no one is around to witness something happen, did it happen?

Like most people I think, when I turn in for the night, no matter how tired I am, I never fall immediately to sleep.  Instead, my mind wanders around to various thoughts and things – often times about things going on in my life, sometimes silly stuff, and also quite often – things that are mystic and philosophical (I think that’s the right word?).

Popcorn, anyone?

I’ve been struggling trying to find something interesting to write about, and thought, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with photography or art, why not do a piece about harvesting this years corn crop? It’s a change of pace at least.

A WWII Soldier’s View of the India-Burma-China Theatre

Yesterday being the anniversary of D-Day, the day when the allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy during WWII, it prompted me to dig out some old photos that my Mother had from when her Brother, my Uncle, was in the war. He was stationed in the Burma-India-China theatre.  He drove supply trucks on the “Burma Road” and the “Stilwell Road (Ledo Road)” up into China, and apparently, he also took a lot of photos.  Perhaps this is where I inherited my love of photography from?!?

My Addiction…

An idea, a spark…
Something that will make people really look…
My mind visualizes the outcome, long before we begin…
The planning, the searching, then the right person walks in…

A Look Back In Time (Part Two)

Continuing along with my last post “A Look Back In Time” (Click here to read it) – I’ve been going through old negatives that belonged to my Great Aunt. I’m not sure when these photos were taken, I would purely guess that it’s sometime around the mid 20’s judging from the autos, motorcycle, and farm machinery, but who knows. The people are long gone, so there’s no one to ask…. Anyway, below are a few more negatives that I have scanned in…

A Look Back In Time…

For the past few days, my Mom has been going through some of her late Aunt’s belongings who had passed away many years ago.  She found old diaries, notebooks, photo albums, etc… She came across some old negatives that she didn’t think were of any value, so she tossed them in a grocery sack to be discarded.  For some reason I thought maybe I should take a look, and discovered 4 envelopes of negatives.
