Smoky Skies

For the past few days, the sun shine hasn’t been quite as bright as it normally shines. The sky has been covered with a milky haze, and it’s not because of thin cloud cover, it’s because of smoke from the wild fires that are burning on the west coast.

It’s amazing that the smoke from fires thousands of miles away could actually travel this far and affect the atmosphere here.  The experts say that the smoke is up in the stratosphere, or approximately 33,000 ft  up.

It’s a strange phenomenon to experience here, and it should remind us of the tragedy that is still unfolding for our neighbors on the west coast of the US and Canada.  Hopefully their nightmare will be contained and brought under control soon.
