4th of July Tradition

The 4th of July has always been one of my most favorite holidays of the year. More so I think when I was younger and the family did more things together.  In later years however, age and loss of family members has changed the level of festivities that the family partakes in.   Now, weather permitting, the day mostly consists of relaxing under the shade tree, grilling something for dinner, and watching the local fireworks display.

This young lady gives me great hope for the future…

My generation has ONLY seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, or see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We don’t know what it’s like not to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones.

A Different Life?

Yesterday turned out to be one of those cold, and rainy days that is typical of a New York State Spring, and the type of day that I don’t particularly care for either.

Bored, I walked around the inside of the house, looking out through the windows watching the rain and gloom. It’s funny how you can look outside like that, and allow your mind to drift off and sometimes wish for different things. Not that where you’re at is bad or anything, but just wondering how you would perceive a different life.

History at Augusta

Tiger! Tiger! Tiger! Tiger! The roar from the crowd and the chants of Tigers name echoed across the Augusta National Golf Course Sunday afternoon, and no doubt also across the Nation via television, as Tiger Woods won the Masters and his 5th Green Jacket! This was history in the making, and a tournament that I was thrilled to watch!

Photography as Art…

Disclaimer: This post is just my opinion, and in no way is it meant to be offensive, critical, or authoritative.

Something that I have discovered about myself when it comes to nude photography, is just how much of it I’m not really fond of. All to often I see photos that, to me, don’t really offer the viewer much – other than a naked female. In other words, if the model had been fully clothed, the photo wouldn’t be much of anything to look at.

I realize that art is extremely subjective, and one person’s masterpiece, is just another photo to someone else. In other words – “to each their own”

Upgrading to Microsoft Windows 10 Professional

Performing this upgrade has been something that I had been procrastinating about for quite some time now – ever since Windows 10 was released as a free upgrade to be exact. But, back then, I didn’t have the internet bandwidth to download it (Verizon Wireless at poor transfer speeds).

However, a little over a year ago, I moved from Verizon as my internet provider, to HughesNet Gen 5. That was a huge improvement for internet related tasks and jobs!

My new, new home – MeWe!

It was just a little over a month ago that I was singing the praises of the social network Diaspora*, and those praises still stand.  However as I had mentioned in that post, I had also signed up for an account on MeWe.

My New Home – Diaspora*

A few weeks ago, it was announced that search engine giant, Google, would be terminating their consumer version of their social network, Google Plus (G+).

By all accounts, the kill switch won’t be thrown until midsummer 2019, but still, the end was announced – forcing people like me, who actually use it, to think about what our future would be.

Patches of Light

I don’t really know what it is about views like this, but I’ve always, always found them to be very appealing.  Is it the contrast between light and dark? A sense of direction? The feeling of hope in an otherwise dark world? I really can’t say. I just know that I’m drawn to views like this.
